About SATER

Background and Objectives

Established by Trust Deed on 5 September 2003, the principal objectives of SATER are to promote research into, and education of accountancy, finance and management together with all subjects in any way related.

Status

SATER is recognised by the Inland Revenue as a charity with effect from 5 September 2003 under Scottish Charity Number SC 034836.

Appointment of Trustees

The Trustees are appointed for a term of up to three years and are eligible for re-appointment thereafter for a maximum of three consecutive terms save in exceptional circumstances where a fourth term is permitted. The minimum number of Trustees is five, maximum eleven.

Two Trustees are appointed from a list nominated by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS): otherwise the appointment of the Trustees is wholly independent of ICAS.
