Helen was educated at Lockerbie Academy before going to the University of Aberdeen to study divinity. After university, Helen decided that she would like to work in another field before entering the ministry and she qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Glasgow. Afterwards Helen moved to London, working with KPMG and then in the City with Phoenix Equity Partners.
With generous donations from her family, friends, employers and members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland, the Helen Jones Appeal Fund was established in Helen’s memory in October 2005, in order to make an annual scholarship in her name. It is administered by SATER, the Scottish Accountancy Trust for Education and Research, assisted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland. Further donations to the Fund can sent by cheque to SATER at the address below. Cheques should be made out to: SATER - The Helen Jones Appeal Fund.
