Supporting Research

SATER supports research into accountancy, finance and management and related subjects, which is relevant to the public interest, the accountancy profession or business by:

  • awarding research project funding
  • awarding seedcorn funding up to £1000 for feasibility studies
  • sponsoring research related events such as conferences

The Research Centre of ICAS administers and monitors grant applications, research projects and ensures the quality of the resulting publications on behalf of SATER.

Applications are encouraged for policy relevant research which is in the public interest, details are outlined in the SATER/ICAS Research Funding Brochure. Further information on applying for research funds is available online or by contacting the ICAS Research Department on 0131 347 0237 or by E-mailing research@scottishaccountancytrust.org.uk.

Applications for grants are welcome from researchers and institutions anywhere in the world.

Other applications for grant funding which meet the general aims of SATER, detailed above, but do not fall within the policy objectives outlined in the SATER/ICAS Research Funding Brochure are welcome to be submitted directly to SATER for consideration by the SATER Trustees.
